EMSELLA® works using electromagnetic energy that penetrates into the pelvic area. This causes contractions of the pelvic muscles that support and control the flow of urine, the functioning of the bladder, the muscles surrounding the vagina, and the flow of blood into the penile tissue.

These contractions exercise muscles in a way that people cannot do on their own, so it offers a unique ability to give people back their urinary self-control and their normal sexual functioning. Unlike other methods, though, EMSELLA® allows people to maintain their dignity and privacy throughout the treatment.
EMSELLA® treatment takes place in a specially designed chair that passes electromagnetic energy through the floor and rear of the pelvic area. Unlike some procedures, EMSELLA® allows you to remain fully clothed through the entire treatment. The energy passes easily through any thin clothing and even through jeans. You never have to undress or feel uncomfortable in front of our treatment team.

Anyone, male or female, who suffers from urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, or vaginal issues may benefit from this treatment. All of these conditions are related to the function of the pelvic muscles.

Because this treatment is completely non-invasive and causes no trauma to the skin or deeper tissues, it is well-tolerated by most people. The lack of embarrassing personal exposure makes EMSELLA® appealing for many people. You should not have this treatment, however, if you have a pacemaker.

You will sit in the EMSELLA® chair, fully clothed, for about 30 minutes while the electromagnetic energy stimulates powerful but not painful contractions of the pelvic muscles. This treatment can provide thousands of times more muscle contractions than any normal exercise.

These muscle contractions may feel intense, but not painful. Intensity can always be adjusted to make you more comfortable if you find the treatment uncomfortable at any time.
For many people, six sessions scheduled once per week will achieve the desired results. However, some people may need more or fewer sessions depending on their condition and the degree of muscle toning needed.

There is no downtime with EMSELLA®. No part of the chair even touches your skin, so there is no skin damage and no discomfort.
