What Skin Concerns Can Facials Improve?
You might think of facials as a fun way to pamper your skin on a spa day, but not a real treatment for improving skin health. But at Alamo Ranch Laser Aesthetics, they can be both! Our professional facials can be a gentle complexion boost or an intensive treatment, depending on your needs.
What are Facials?
“Facials” is a broad term for non-invasive skin treatments, usually topical treatments. Facials often exfoliate and deep-clean your skin, infuse it with powerful serums, or both. Alamo Ranch Laser Aesthetics offers multiple types of facials. The one thing they all have in common is that they leave your skin happy, healthy, and beautiful.
What Skin Conditions Can Facials Treat?
We can use one or more of our facial treatments to address various skin concerns. Traditional facials are typically a gentle, non-invasive treatment and may have little effect on deep-rooted concerns like wrinkles and acne scars. You can still benefit from these facials to pamper your skin occasionally. But we also offer more intensive facial treatments that effectively reduce many complexion issues.
Our facials can often improve:
- Uneven skin tone
- Enlarged pores
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Uneven skin texture
- Dullness
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun damage
Types of Facials
Alamo Ranch offers the following types of facials:
Exosome Facial
Exosomes are like messengers created by your cells, carrying proteins, chemical signals, growth factors, and more. When exosomes are applied to damaged skin, they stimulate the cells to repair themselves, promoting cell turnover and increasing collagen production. An exosome facial involves injecting exosomes into your skin to take advantage of your body’s natural healing process.
PRP Facial
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. By spinning some of your blood in a centrifuge, we can isolate this platelet-rich plasma full of growth factors that promote healing. A PRP facial is similar to an exosome facial. We’ll inject PRP into your skin, prompting your skin cells to repair damage.
Chemical Peel
Chemical peels are a more intensive treatment option for improving your complexion. This treatment has multiple chemical formula strengths, depending on your goals and skin condition. A light chemical peel exfoliates the outer layer of skin, removing superficial damage for a brighter complexion. Medium and deep peels penetrate further into the skin. They may require some downtime but can dramatically improve acne scars, wrinkles, and more.
Cleansing Facial
This classic facial gives your skin a deep clean. Clearing out your pores and gently exfoliating away dirt, oil, and dead skin cells leaves your skin refreshed and radiant.

Is There Downtime After a Facial?
Most facials require little to no downtime. However, it will depend on your personalized treatment. Exosomes and PRP injections alone have only minor side effects, such as bruising and swelling at the injection sites for a day or two. Cleansing facials require no downtime and typically have no side effects.
Some chemical peels may require a few days of downtime. A light chemical peel generally causes mild redness for a day or two. However, deeper peels can cause significant swelling, flaking, and discomfort.
How Often Should I Get a Facial?
Depending on the type of facial, you may incorporate them regularly into your skincare routine, or they may be a one-time treatment. We often recommend PRP, light chemical peels, or exosomes every few months, and cleansing facials every few weeks. Deeper chemical peels are typically only recommended every several months or years.
