What Can Dermal Fillers Be Used For?

What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable cosmetic treatments used to reduce the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and sagging skin. There are many different types of dermal fillers, but at Alamo Ranch Laser Aesthetics, we use Juvederm® dermal fillers. Juvederm® dermal fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our bodies, which is injected under the skin to fill in areas of concern. Depending on your specific concerns, different Juvederm® formulations will be used to best meet your needs.
Dermal Filler Results
Immediately after your Juvederm® dermal filler treatment, you will notice that your skin is more plump and full. You will also notice that your skin is more moisturized than it was before treatment. Over the following weeks, your results will continue to develop as the Juvederm® settles beneath your skin.
You can expect your Juvederm® dermal filler results to last between six months to over a year, depending on the type of Juvederm® Dermal filler used and the specific area treated.
If you are not satisfied with the results of your treatment, dermal fillers are easily reversible.

Is There Any Downtime With Juvederm® Dermal Fillers?
Dermal filler treatments are minimally invasive and typically have no downtime. After your session, you should be able to return to your day immediately. Patients typically experience mild soreness and bruising at the site of the treatment, but this is temporary and should quickly subside.
Who is a Good Candidate for Dermal Fillers?
Anyone who has wrinkles, thin lips, or areas of their face that lack volume may be a good candidate for Juvederm® dermal fillers. Dermal filler patients should be in good health, have no underlying health conditions, and have realistic result expectations. Those with open wounds or infections may need to wait before they undergo treatment.
