How Do Dermal Fillers Work?

Dermal fillers are a safe and effective method to reduce signs of natural aging and restore the face’s youthful appearance. Juvederm® contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally produced molecule in the skin. Since it is naturally occurring, the body does not reject the injection. Hyaluronic acid has become a popular ingredient in skincare. 

Juvederm® is injected into the treatment areas to fill the space under the skin. The stabilized hyaluronic acid formulas stay in place and remain flexible, resulting in a natural and smooth result.

How Soon Do Dermal Fillers Take Effect?

Dermal fillers results are immediate. Immediately after your appointment, you can return to your daily activities. We recommend avoiding intense physical activity immediately afterward to minimize swelling and bruising. We may ask you to sleep on your back for a day or two following your appointment to keep the filler from moving from its position. 

There may be mild bruising and swelling that will last from a couple of hours to a few days afterward. Contact Alamo Ranch Laser Aesthetics if you have any visual disturbances accompanied by pain or weakness to one side of the body.

Dermal fillers are an effective way to restore or add volume to your facial features. Dermal fillers can last anywhere from six to eighteen months. Different types of Juvederm® dermal fillers are used for various aspects of the face. The lips require a more flexible compound, which lasts from six months to a year. For more static areas of the face, a thicker, sturdier structure is used that can last at least eighteen months. 

What if I Don’t Like the Results of My Juvederm® Treatment?

There is no risk to using Juvederm®. Unlike most other dermal fillers, hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm® are easily reversible if you do not like your results. Talk to your surgeon after your appointment if you feel that the results are not to your satisfaction.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dermal Fillers?

If you have any areas of your face that you would like to see more volume, you are a perfect candidate for Juvederm® dermal fillers.
